Dating back to the early 18th century, wool has been a large part of Australia’s commodity trading to the rest of the world. Millers Point or Barangaroo as its more commonly known these days, was the centre for all shipping trade for Sydney Cove. Australian farmers would work to the bone to get their wool to the docks just so their luxurious product could be shipped overseas for artisans on the other side of the globe to turn the raw product into something extraordinary.
Now, Modarte is bringing wool back into fashion in Australia by providing the 'old world' form of custom suiting experience with a twist, creating suits literally from farm to fashion.
Modarte’s exclusive process is one of three in the world, entirely owned and operated by a singular company. Modarte takes care of the entire process to create your custom suit, starting with their dedicated farms, located in various destinations across Australia, producing the finest merino wool, to their very own mill that weaves the fine fibres into uniquely designed checks and sophisticated coloured cloth, to their workroom across the globe that produces their custom suiting and back to Barangaroo to the customer.
Modarte's exclusive fully personalised suiting approach means you can experience the luxury of dedicated tailoring. The process of creating a bespoke suit includes fitting and style sessions where you get to complete body measurements for optimised fit and discuss garment details. The design process is much more than just selecting fabric and buttons, but also allows you to pick the lapel style, sleeve opening, type of front closure to the types of pockets or your wool thread count. It means no two suits are ever the same, which is as unique as it gets!
Come and discover Modarte - located in Watermans Quay, and open Monday to Friday 10am-6pm, Saturday and Sunday by appointment.
