First look: The Butcher’s Block
Your breakfast spot, midday meeting hub, and evening restaurant of choice is now open
Sitting at the northern end of Barangaroo Avenue is the newest addition to The Streets - The Butcher’s Block - bringing casual all-day dining in a relaxed yet sophisticated setting.
Morning café and lunch spot by day, cocktail bar and casual restaurant by night, The Butcher’s Block is on a mission to make contemporary dining a fun, multilayered and immersive, yet truly local experience.
With ex-Quay Sous Chef Daniel Rudolph at the helm, the team has created a concept dictated by Australian native produce, brought to life through a menu that ties classical elements with contemporary ideas.
“I’ve put my heart and soul into creating a well-balanced all-day dining menu that will have something that appeals to every palate and I’m excited to showcase the premium ingredients Australia has to offer and finally welcome guests to see the hard work and vision come to life.” - says Rudolph.
The menu celebrates meaty dishes bringing favourites from the original North Shore restaurant, such as the Black Angus flatiron steak, duck parfait, and the beef ribs, slow cooked for 12 hours with a honey and barbecue glaze, but doesn’t neglect pescatarians and plant-based diet enthusiasts. Case in point, the new signature dish —sashimi kingfish — celebrating the union of Hiramasa kingfish, with sushi rice, soy beans, cucumber, carrot, sesame, seaweed and ponzu, will impress even the most sophisticated palate.
Those looking for wholesome breakfast and lunch options, will enjoy the green breakfast bowl, crab omelette and vanilla polenta porridge, complemented by a carefully curated range of nourishing lunch bowls and signature burgers.
Completing the menu is an exciting dessert and cocktail selection perfect for those summer afternoons, matched by a curated, yet accessible, wine program for a decadent evening.
